Human Computer Interaction

Master Course in Computer Engineering, Politecnico Di Torino, 2022

I had the privilege to serve as an teaching assistant for a Master’s level course on Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) at Politecnico Di Torino in Turin, Italy. The course took place from October 1st, 2022, and was an intensive, hands-on experience that aimed to provide students with a solid foundation in the field of HCI.

Course Overview

The course covered a wide range of topics related to HCI, including user-centered design, usability, interaction design principles, and prototyping. Throughout the course, students were exposed to both theoretical concepts and practical applications, which allowed them to develop a comprehensive understanding of the field.

Hands-On Projects

A significant portion of the course was dedicated to hands-on projects that allowed students to apply the concepts and techniques they had learned. These projects included designing and prototyping interactive systems, conducting usability evaluations, and implementing user interface improvements based on user feedback.

Reflections

Serve as an assistant professor the Human-Computer Interaction course at Politecnico Di Torino was an enriching and inspiring experience for me. It was particularly rewarding to see students develop a deeper understanding of the importance of user-centered design and usability in creating effective and enjoyable interactive systems. The students’ enthusiasm and creativity in their projects demonstrated the positive impact of combining theoretical concepts with practical applications. I was also gratified to witness the growth in their ability to communicate and collaborate as they tackled real-world design challenges. The course strengthened my belief in the power of HCI to transform technology into tools that truly enhance human experiences, and I am excited to see what the future holds for these talented students as they apply their skills in the field.
